Slow gardening this weekend

I did have some grand plans of sowing more seeds this weekend, along with potting some seedlings up. This hasn’t happened. I ordered some more little coir pots around ten days ago and they haven’t arrived yet.

I was hoping that they would have arrived by now. Technically, I could have potted up my seedlings into their final big pots, but there are a couple of issues with this. The first one is that if you pot a plant up into a pot too much larger than the previous one, the growing media will be too cold for the roots to do anything but sit-before the plant above ground can grow, the roots below need to get growing.

Seedlings are also still quite delicate, prone to things like damping off which is a fungal disease. They can also just rot. I personally don’t want either to happen.

Hopefully, my pot order arrives in the next couple of days so that I can get my seed sowing and potting up done over the coming few days.

One thing I did manage to do was add some organic fertiliser to my currently growing plants. I got some of the fertiliser below. I didn’t want to use synthetic fertilisers, so I decided this one would be worth a try.

The fertiliser I’m trying

The weather today has been fairly miserable today. We have had 18.8mm of rain today. The high temperature was 21 degrees Celsius, with 97% humidity when not raining.

Anyway, that’s my rather boring gardening weekend. You can’t win them all! Until next time, happy gardening.
