Today, the forecast was for a decent chance of rain this morning, but there hasn’t been any at all so far, apart from 0.5mm overnight. As there was a fair amount sunshine around, I thought that I would get some seed sowing done.
I sowed the following seeds today:
- Pea ‘Greenfeast’
- Broad bean ‘Crimson Flowered’
- Sweet pea-‘Painted Lady’, ‘Flora Norton’, ‘Miss Willmott’, ‘Matucana’ and the original form of sweet pea.
- Cauliflower ‘Mini’
- Broccoli ‘Waltham’
- Onion ‘Red Marksman’
As for the rest of today’s weather stats, beyond the 0.5mm of rain:
- 27.8 degrees Celsius
- 77% humidity
- Wind was from an ESE direction with a speed 0.4 km/hr and gusts up to 3.6km/hr
- The relative pressure was 1021.8 pHa, while absolute pressure 1004.1 pHa
As for the usual window test-it is mostly dummy outdoes today which is lovely, all my plants seem to be happy with that, especially the little seedlings I potted up yesterday.
I also thought I would take a quick look at my gear and cold zones for where I live in Sydney. Heat zones specify the average number of days over thirty degrees Celsius you are likely to experience each year-I’m in heat zone 4, so I’m likely to experience an average of thirty days a year above thirty degrees. Cold zones are determined by the lowest temperature you will experience. I’m in cold zones 10, so I’m likely to experience no colder than minus one degree Celsius (but I haven’t seen it that cold in the fourteen years that I have been here.
