Think back on your most memorable road trip.
Back in 2019, my dad was over in Australia for a visit to us (and a sister) in Sydney, a sister in Melbourne and his mate in Brisbane. As both my sisters were both living in Australia at the time too, my dad booked some hotel rooms in Noosa on the Sunshine Coast in Queensland.
As my dad was already up in Brisbane and my sisters were flying up there, we decided to have a road trip up to Noosa from Sydney. It was a memorable road trip as we took the inland route through Armidale on the way up there.
On the way there, we had a nice lunch in the Hunter Valley. Not far outside Armidale it is really dark as it is a small town in the middle of nowhere, and we stopped briefly and I saw the Milky Way for the first time. I thought this was one of the best things ever-seeing so many stars was great. It’s a shame I don’t have any photos. The next day when we were driving into Noosa, we were driving through the heaviest rain I have ever seen-they do it right up there!
The few days we had in Noosa were of course lovely. Time on the beach, not being at work (always the best part) and time with family was really nice.
We then drove back down to Sydney along the coastal motorway as it’s quicker than the inland route and we had to get back to work.
While we have done several road trips around the south east corner of Australia and they have all been good, this one was my favourite. I certainly plan on doing many more road trips too as this country has so much to explore!
