Another day that’s been far too hot!

Today has been another day that’s been ridiculously hot-I have hated it immensely! It did feel rather unbearable in the sun out there, but the weather has now changed completely since the front came through-the temperature is now down to 21.8 degrees Celsius, really windy with a bit of rain and a few storms floating around the city.

While I was at work, I recorded a few temperatures as the day went on, just to show you how hot it actually got. By 9.30 this morning, it had reached 29 degrees Celcius but felt like 32 at work. At home, which is about half an hour from work, got to 26 at the same time. The picture below is a screenshot from my weather station app (located at home) just before I finished work, showing it reached 39 degrees here earlier. It was the same at work.

There were few plants that didn’t seem to be suffering with the heat today-these few were some succulents sat doing their thing in some pots. They looked really good in the sun.

While it was really unpleasant due to the heat at work today, I was quite happy when I got home as some of the seeds I sowed on the weekend have now germinated. All the beetroot varieties have germinated, as have both Brussels sprouts varieties. No sign of any tomatoes, capsicums, spring onions or Echeveria germination yet, but I wasn’t expecting them too yet anyway. Any germination is a good thing, so I’m happy.

Anyway, that’s all for today really as I’m rather tired. The heat always saps any remaining energy that I have. I aim to get a good sleep tonight, but I may get shouted at by the cat-she likes to be a bit bossy at night!
