The one good thing about my job at the moment is that I often see lots of little critters as I’m working. Trust me when I say this, it is the only positive of work beyond being paid! While I could go on all day about how I don’t like it, I am going to focus on what I enjoy finding, as I need to keep the positive going as much as possible!
I didn’t manage to get any photos of bees today as they were too quick being busy and doing their thing, but I saw plenty around the butterfly bush and it’s lovely flowers.

I also came across this caterpillar on a rose today. Don’t ask me what species, but here it is.

I frequently come across spiders as I’m working. While many people think they are scary, they are not really. Learn a bit about them, leave them alone, keep your eyes open and you will be fine. Spiders are a great help for dealing with ‘pests’ in the garden, so I’m happy they are here.

I also saw plenty of snails around today too. Most people in the gardening world seem to have a problem with snails, but I see them as food for birds if nothing else. Both are welcome in my garden.

So that’s my day in the various critters I’ve come across. There are, of course, the usual birds like magpies, ibis, cockatoos, galahs and kookaburras that I see every day. They are ‘almost’ normal sights for me now, after living here in Australia for thirteen years, but I still think it’s amazing to see them!
Anyway, I’d best be off to get chores done. I’ll be back tomorrow with more plant related stuff I want to talk about. Until then, bye for now!
