After a fairly relaxed weekend, Monday has come with temperatures that really are too hot for me to deal with! Instead of moaning all the time, because we all have too much of that nonsense if we allow it, I’m really looking around me for what is looking good after a bit of rain over the last few days. Thankfully, I have been spoilt today!

While not my favourite rose, this is rather pretty. Where I now work doesn’t have may favourite rose, unfortunately but any roses and flowers are better than none!

Today has been busy for wildlife. Several species of birds and butterflies, along with bees have all been out. The only one I could get a photo of was this ladybird with loads of spots.

Bears breaches (Acanthus mollis) is one of my favourite flowers, but the leaves are also pretty cool too-I love the shape, size and colour of them.

This is the lovely flower of bindweed, or Convolvulus sabatius. The colour of this flower is really nice.

Liriope is usually the most boring of plants, but the flowers have appeared to make it more interesting. Excuse the fat fingers in the second photo, I just wanted to show an open one.

These hydrangeas are looking great today. There are pink ones and blue ones. I love the range of colours they have, even in this picture.

This little plant is a native Australian grass commonly called basket grass (Oplismenus aemulus). It’s one of those plants that should be used more as it’s a good ground cover plant. Many people do see it as a weed which is a shame.

Agapanthus flowers are looking so good at this time of year in the sun, I just had to include this photo. It’s the colour and flower shape that appears from a rather bland looking bunch of leaves.

After another 38 degree Celsius day, according to my car on the way home, I got home rather tired and grumpy. After an hour sitting and relaxing with my cat, husband and son I feel a lot happier!
