What happens on wet days?

Working outdoors means that we do face all sorts of weather-heat and baking sun, stupidly high humidity, the cold and various amounts of rain. Today I have had rain, so what do we do in the rain.

Due to having the advantage of a full-time permanent job, I can’t just decide to go home because it’s a little wet! Instead, if the rain is too heavy to work in, jobs include tool maintenance and cleaning-greasing and cleaning mowers and other machinery, cleaning hedgers, whipper snippers and loppers, etc.

For my specific role, are reports to write, safety reports to keep on top of and the odd meeting to have.

Of course, the level of rain is important. If it is only spitting (very light rain), I will carry on working, but there is a limit-as soon as there is a threat of getting saturated, I’ll hide until it stops, even if sometimes it doesn’t!

Wet days are generally very boring if it rains heavily continuously for the day. Of course, you do accept that that is all part of the job.
