A little excitement

Today, I got a little excited at work as I saw some daffodils, something that I haven’t seen since I left the England over twelve years ago. Yes, it is now winter here in Australia, with daffodils being a spring flower to me so it’s a random, but nice, surprise.

Little daffodils

From cute little yellow flowers to one reason why I don’t like palm trees. These trees are in the car park of my local swimming pool and just look nasty! All these dead palm fronds should be removed, especially those lower down on the trunks.

Messy palm trees

Grass trees (Xanthorrhea spp) are an odd Australian genus of plants. I am partial to the oddities of Australian flora and fauna in general, including these.

This delightful flower is on a Camellia japonica. This particular camellia is looking fabulous at the moment, being covered in these delightful pink flowers.

The bark of this tree is pretty cool with its deep fissures.

Finally, I have my favourite rose at work, I just love the colour of this one. I’m not sure of its name but it is a bit fabulous.
