Random photos fro the week

I haven’t really left home much over the past few days, but when I have left home, plants have got my attention, as usual.

First up is a gymea lily, or Doryanthes excelsa. While this plant is nothing like what most people across the world would think of as a lily, it has a special place in my heart. I once said that this plant was weird in front of my son (when he was about 7). He decided that this meant I was scared of it-just to get a reaction from his mum, I think. While I’m not scared of this plant, the flowers are odd and my son, now 16, still like to try and get a reaction-which is why I like the plant. It means I get some fun interaction with a young man that I’m rather fond of!

On my travels to the local supermarket, I walk past some camellias. While common flowers at this time of year, they are always very pretty and put a smile on my face.

I can’t say that yellow is usually a colour I live in any way, but this rose is rather pretty.
