This week has been rather soggy, with more rain to come this weekend. I have still managed to get some pretty flowers and rather interesting looking mushrooms.
I’ll start with the mushrooms. The colour is them is so interesting, as you can see below. I imagine they are the same species of fungus as they are found in the same lawn area that is tucked out the way and gets very little sun (not that we’ve had any recently). I really don’t know what species they are but I will try and find out when I get chance.

Yellow is often a cheery colour and this Osteospermum flower. I also like the purple centre.

Just because Grevillea flowers are the most awesome looking flowers going, with the species and cultivars having so many different variations in colour. To me, the grevillea flower is the epitome of Australian flora-vastly different, quirky and very interesting to look at.

Gazinia flowers are always bright and colourful, especially when the weather is a bit grim!

This Chinese hibiscus is one that I’ve wanted to take a photo of for a while, just because of the colour of these flowers. This particular plant is in a garden bed that’s difficult to get into unless you fancy climbing and fighting vegetation. I had to wait for the flowers to open in the right direction before taking this photo, which I got this week!

Bromeliads are a quirky bunch of plants. This is Aechmea fasciata with a a pink flower that is slightly over the top with the shade of pink, but that’s why I like it!

Camellia’s are always pretty. Both the white and pink flowers below are really nice.

The roses below are some of the best I’ve seen this week. I think that my favourite of these is the red one at the top left.

This is Cycas revoluta. I think that cycads are an odd bunch of plants that look like palms. For me, cycads are the better plant, mainly because they make less mess and are less weedy in the landscape than palms.
