My weekly plants

My week hasn’t been too bad at all this week, which has surprised me in all honesty. On my travels when out and about, I have done my usual geeky thing and took photos of plants.

The first one is Gordonia axillaris, with the common name of the fried egg plant due to the flowers. This is a nice small tree, I’m my area it is quite a common street tree. It has a nice almost red bark and really nice flowers in late autumn.

This is a picture from the local golf course. I don’t really know why but these rows of trees are oddly appealing. Normally, this sort of planting isn’t something I like.

This next tree is one that I absolutely love. I thinks it is Eucalyptus saligna, or Sydney blue gum, so- called because of the colour of the bark. The colour is most noticeable at dawn and dusk, but looks great all the time!

Another two gum trees, both with interesting wrinkly bark. Most would probably say I’m a certified wierdo, but someone needs to play that role!
