On my travels

I have been out a lot this past weekend doing various things with family. While I’m out I often see plants that I like and will take pictures of them-I’ll show you some below.

The first is from the botanic gardens in Sydney, looking towards the Opera House and bridge. The gardens are quite large and in the centre of the city, so easily accessible for a lot of people. They are also well worth a visit if you get chance.

Flowers are always a nice thing to have around, and I have a thing about orange ones at the moment. This one fits the bill perfectly! It’s Hibiscus rosa-sinensis.

This slightly wonky tree is Araucaria columnaris, a native of New Caledonia and a relative of the monkey puzzle tree. I like all trees in this genus of conifers.

Next up is some ginger with red and yellow flowers.

This is a Magnolia grandiflora flower bud at home. I’ve walked past this so many times without seeing the flower buds before-I actually think they look nicer than the flowers!

I hope you enjoyed a brief look at my weekend.
