Mostly!

Do you enjoy your job?

I do, for the most part, enjoy my job. I enjoy the fact that I am around plants all day. I also spend all my time outdoors and actually work in a nice setting-where I am finally seeing improvements in my teams hard work over a warm, humid Sydney summer. This of course gives me pride in my work, which is brilliant, but also drives me to maintain this and make my lovely workplace even better!

Wisteria flowers

I work with some really decent people too, which is very important. If you work with decent people, you can chat and have a laugh with them and it makes the day go so much quicker than the opposite. I am lucky that I have this too.

My is also one where I am constantly busy and on my feet. While I am always exhausted by the end of the day, I would rather be busy all than quiet and relaxed-business makes the day go so fast that I’m going home before you know it! Being on my feet all day means that I don’t have to do hours and hours in the gym every week as my fitness is already quite high-I do a little swimming and pilates and that’s that!

One of the many critters I come across when out doing my thing

While there are some days where I do wonder why I work as a horticulturalist, especially on a day like today where we had temperatures up to 37 or 38 degrees Celsius and humid-this makes working outdoors hard to impossible, I really couldn’t imaging having any other sort of job!
