Being a bit of a gardening buff and a reader means that I enjoy reading things about gardening. I have a few books that I have recently got that I have found enjoyable on the subject of gardening.
The first one is a book called An Almost Impossible Thing by a lady called Fiona Davison. The subject is about six female gardeners before the First World War. I enjoyed this book for several reasons-I am also a fan of history, including garden history. The fact that women began being professional gardeners at this time is another point of interest to me.

My next book is also a gardening history book called England’s Gardens A Modern History by Stephen Parker. This book talks about different gardening styles within English gardens over the centuries that the English have been gardening. Again, I liked this book because it combines two of my interests-gardening and history.

This final book is more of a practical help in the garden. While the Royal Horticultural Society Encyclopedia of Gardening is primarily aimed at UK gardeners, I still find plenty within the book is useful to me in Australia.
