Weekday pottering in the garden

Today I went for a potter in my garden with my champion helper, Cuddles the cat. After I get home from work, she likes to come out into the garden with me. She helps me by eating leaves off my plants, if she isn’t trying to sit on them and then trying to get under the fence to the neighbours garden! Of course, she is fabulous at being helpful, as well as the cutest assistant anyone could have!

In my garden at the moment, several of my seeds have germinated. Beetroot and pumpkin (I think, as I forgot to put labels in pots!) have now germinated. Cat grass for my helper has germinated and has given her approval by eating some in her duty as apprentice gardener!

Pea pods

There will be some jobs for me this weekend. I will be harvesting my peas and I’ll be able to re-use the pot used for the peas for seedlings that need potting on. I also need to do the sweeping up as it’s a bit of a state at the moment. I’m also going to sow some more seeds but I’m not sure what which ones yet! The compost bin also needs fixing up, so I’ll have to get things fixed so we can turn it again and mix everything up.

Pottering in the garden when I get home from work is nice and relaxing for some reason, even though I spend all day gardening! I think it’s because it’s my own space and I can look after it exactly how I please.
