As I haven’t been working this weekend, I have been able to spend a little more time pottering in the garden. I did all my stuff over both Saturday and Sunday just to have an excuse to get outside and do something active.
On Saturday, I did some more seed sowing. It included the following:
- Beetroot ‘Heirloom Mix’
- Tomato ‘Tommy Toe’
- Capsicum ‘Sweet Mix’
- Cucumber ‘Mini White’
- Broccoli ‘Green Sprouting’
- Tomato ‘San Marzarno‘
- Spring Onion’Evergreen Trident’
- Onion ‘Gream Gold’
- Cucumber ‘Double Yield’
- Sunflower ‘Evening Sun’
On Sunday, I potted up some of my seedling onions, capsicums, chillies, tomatoes and broccoli. They all got put into larger pots that used contain beans and peas, which had finished producing a crop. This will now hopefully allow those plants to grow well and produce plenty of tasty food!
My cacti are still happy living outside, with new growth being present. I potted them all up at the start of spring and they are clearly enjoying it!

My African Violets are both flowering again and looking good too. This is the second flush of flowers for both plants.

Also over the weekend, I went into the Sydney city centre which was lovely. I had lunch out and had a great day enjoying the summer sun. Below is a picture of some jacaranda trees looking great in flower-these trees always look good in spring.

Those Jacaranda trees are stunning! I’ve never seen photos of these before!
They are a lovely native of South America that do very well in Sydney. At this time of year you can see a mass of purple-blue flowers when stood on any hill with a view here which is really nice!
