One thing that I see all the time is ‘garden design’ (unfortunately used rather loosely) that is far from up to scratch! Today, I’m going to run through some bad design choices I’ve seen recently.

While this first photo isn’t strictly in a garden , it is still bad planning and design in a landscape. It shows a footpath that randomly stops in an area of grass.

The reason why this is a bit a bad design situation is due to the fact that behind where this photo is taken are further office buildings. While most travel to this area by car, people do get public transport to the area and walk to the relevant building. You also have to consider less able people, including the use of wheelchairs. Either provide a path or don’t, but we should be doing better than half a job!

The next thing is planting trees so close to buildings, like belie. Trees should have more space to grow and do their thing.
