All I have physically done in the garden today is water all my outside plants. When watering, I always have a good look at each individual plant to see what’s happening with it. By doing this, you learn what’s normal and then if there are any problems, you find them early and fix them quickly. Also, if you get any pest or disease problems, you can hopefully prevent too much damage.
The weather has been unusually warm for the end of July. We haven’t had any rain this week, it has been sunny all week. While pottering outside today, I did notice one or two things that has me really happy, even though they are only small things to be excited about. Firstly, there are quite a lot of flowers on the first lot of peas that I planted. Also, there are now some very small pea pods there, so I’ll have some peas relatively soon!

We harvested the last of our mandarins today. Again, they were very small but tasty. One of my avocado trees has signs of new growth on it too.

All my other plants are growing really well, especially my beans. All the seeds sown for flowers only are getting new leaves on them now, but are a lot slower than the beans and peas sown at the same time.

Inside this week, I have given all my cacti a fertilise ready for the new growing season. As it has been really warm this week, I have done this ready for their new growing season.
Finally, when I sat down to write, I had a little fluffy little helper helping me, in the form of my cat Cuddles.
