Winter is cold but beautiful

What is your favorite season of year? Why?

Here is Sydney, winter is my favourite season for several reasons.

Cymbidium orchid in flower over winter

The first reason is that the temperature is cool. Coming from England originally, I still struggle with summer temperatures and find the winters a lot easier to deal with.

Grevillea flower

In winter, the sun always seems to shine more than in the summer, making the cooler temperatures far nicer to deal with-if it rained a lot in winter, I wouldn’t enjoy it half as much!

Banksia flower

As a person who loves plants, a lot of my favourite Australian native plants are flowering-banksia’s, grevillea’s and later into winter my favourite native climber Hardenbergia violaceae brings out its cute little purple flowers. These flowers always cheer me up by adding colour to my day.
