The wonders of a busy bee

Today, I managed to get a video of a bee being busy doing its thing. I really am quite fascinated by bees and the way they do out pollinating flowers. Nature is a fabulous thing I think.

As much as I am a gardener, I’m going to start talking more about more ‘nature’ things as well as the gardening, even though horticulture/gardening and nature are very closely related subjects to me.

Today, I found that a couple of the bears breeches flowers are opening up. These flowers are unusual in colour and rather sculptural in their form, and are also happy in the shade or dappled sunlight under trees, which can often be a hard situation to plant in.

I also love gum trees at this time of year as the bark sheds off. The colours are really varied and the texture of the bark is also very interesting as the bark peels off in strips or little pieces.

Gaura flowers are coming out too. While I do prefer the pink ones, the white flowers are still really pretty in the sunshine.

That’s all for today, I hope you have enjoyed my plants and busy bees.
