Todays gardening

Even though I’m in the process of developing a plan for growing all my veg over the next year, I have sown some more seeds this morning. I want to make sure that I have plenty of fresh veg to eat over the coming months. Today I had sown the following seeds:

  • Cucumber ‘Mini White’-harvest in 8 weeks
  • Capsicum ‘Sweet Chocolate’-harvest in 12 weeks
  • Chilli ‘Joes Long Cayenne’-ready in15 weeks
  • Cabbage ‘Red Drumhead’-ready in 14 weeks
  • Spring onion ‘Evergreen Trident’-ready in 9 weeks
  • Bean ‘Speckled Cranberry’-ready in 10 weeks
  • Cauliflower ‘Mini’-ready in 18 weeks
  • Brussels sprouts ‘Long Island’-ready in 23 weeks
  • Broccoli ‘Waltham Organic’-ready in 9 weeks
  • Tomato ‘Tigerella’-ready in 10 weeks
  • Beetroot ‘Heirloom Mix’-ready in 8 weeks
  • Beetroot ‘Bulls Blood’-ready in 8 weeks
  • Capsicum ‘Mini Sweet Mix’-ready in 15 weeks

I am happy with all my other plants so far too. Despite the rain and the wind over the past week or so, everything is still alive and growing well. There are plenty of flowers out and some colourful leaves from the cabbage and beetroot. I have some very tiny tomatoes and three poppy flower buds. I’m hoping for a productive 2024 in my garden!

I wish you all a happy and successful 2024.
